What’s in your closet?

Whenever asked “What’s in your closet” naturally our first response would be clothes and shoes but when taking a closer look we find there’s more. I will be the first to admit I am a woman who loves clothes, shoes, purses, and the accessories that pulls a great look together. This leaves me having more than enough. So, with each change of the season I tackle the daunting task of ridding my closet of things I no longer want or need. But to be honest this deed brings forth anguish each time I undertake this job. My distress comes when I pull out certain garments which I continually place back in my closet year after year. I know these items are no use to me but for some reason I have a sense of comfort knowing they are safely tucked away. While I earnestly work on my seasonal ritual God’s word “TRUST ME” while the verse from 2 Timothy "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” start to permeate deep within my soul. The man will become

A poem I wrote and gave to my son before he left for college. The man will become You will become a man of great honor who will be loved and admired by many and one that loves and admires, a man who will humble himself before the Lord and others. A man who will have others best interest at heart, someone who will bless others because of the blessings the Lord has bestowed on you. You will be a man who will make his mark on the world, a man whom people will remember but most important a family member that will be remembered for generations to come. You will be a man that loves the Lord and will be blessed beyond compare. Mom

Falling short at loving well.

God tells us to “love your neighbor as yourself”. It is much easier for us to love in the realm of society instead of the fullness of God. Let me explain: Societies love is constantly self-seeking, conditional, as well as withholding. It is often linked around getting our own wants, needs, and desires met with little regard to the emotional wellbeing of others. It also comes in the form of allowing others to control and/or manipulate as well as being the controller and/or manipulator. It can cause confusion within boundaries and accountability. All of this is an act of self preservation causing our hearts to be guarded, thus protecting our own idea of happiness and self-worth. We live this way not because we want, but because our hearts have been impaired into believing this is the way to love. This causes us to miss the mark on the true meaning of God’s love. This is no fault of our own; it is just the nature of a fallen world. However it is our responsibility to break free f

Why "living Outside the Grey"

Why this title “Living Outside the Grey”. As my heart longs to live as Christ, I sometimes find myself being morphed into the world’s image. As I become accustomed to its morals and standards this somehow causes the line of Truth to be pushed back; thus causing the grey matter to appear. In order for me to live unto Him I have to break away from the requirements of society and cling to the Truth of the Master. I am sure this stance will not come without cost but in order for me to grow into the likes of Him it is vital for me to press onward so others can see it is possible to live solely on God’s principals, no matter the social order. I am sharing this journey with you since I believe there are others who desire to live in the fullness of our Heavenly Father, without grey substance. This voyage will unbelievingly bring forth questions, concerns, and possibly some fear as we transform into the likeness of Jesus. I am looking forward to seeing God restore hearts and minds as we
